Wedding March - Shinhwa

Heh. It's past midnight and I've just reached home from well, my bad, A WEDDING, not really a social event, although to me, it was a social event. On this blessed day, Mr. Chua Thian Poh's son, Nicholas was getting married to his fiance that he met almost seven years ago. They had an ultra-glam wedding dinner at the Ritz Carlton. Most of the rich have their weddings there because the Ritz possesses one of the biggest ballrooms in town and that has that certain quality and atmosphere at the same time.

Well, Mr. Chua Thian Poh is one of the most influential person in town. He is the chairman of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce along with a trail of titles that he possess, Director, Justice of Peace, etc. Well, wow, the President and certain cabinet ministers like the Deputy PM, Wong Kan Seng and even Tharman, the Education Minister was there to grace to occasion. I managed to see Simon Cheong, Singapore's leading property developer too.

Well, I say, what the big deal. This is a wedding between a couple and you invite a whole number of people whom the bride and groom have probably never heard of and probably never see or hear from again. Well, not their fault, everyone wants a wedding to be the highlight of their life and they want important people to attend and can you believe? The couple have TWO wedding dinners to be held tonight that I attended and tomorrow night. Tonight was for their parents friends and distinguished guests. That's why I was wondering, why all of the bride and groom's friends were old ah gong and ah mahs -.- Tomorrow's dinner would be held for their friends. Sheesh, imagine. 2,000 +++ people o.o .... wow ....

My wedding, I want it simple and sweet. I only want the people I love and I care for to be there. I don't want any bigshot hoo-haa to bloody grace my wedding. It's mine and my wife's wedding. NOT HIS or HERs! Get LOST! We should get the limelight, not some old fogey. But then again, knowing my family, My wedding will have thousands of guests again. Family tradition. My parent's wedding was considered one of the largest back then. It was held at the Mandarin hotel and they had TWO .... omfreakin'g ... TWO floors for the wedding.

My poor mom and dad had to go thank, take pictures and shake hands with each table that numbered to the hundreds. The second floor, they had a giant projecter, projecting whatever was happening on the first floor. Sheesh. I watched the video with the part where usually, the bride, groom and their parents go thank their guests after each event, you know the one where when you leave the ballroom after dinner. Yesh. That's the one, the tape ran for more than 30 minutes. Goodness ...

Anyways, I didn't tell you guys that I was representing my grandfather tonight. Today was my great grandmother's err .. 96 ? 94th birthday and therefore, he could not make it. My mom and bro went to to birthday dinner while my dad and I went to *grace* the wedding. My mom later told me that my grandparents didn't like this Chua fellow. Yes, he is bloody rich, but his beginnings were shady. He was a smuggler and smuggled himself to riches. Not many people know that and me disclosing this fact is putting my life on the life. .... who cares. But don't blame him though, he worked hard for it so I have nothing to comment about it.

So, many people aspire to be rich one day but always take the right path. Most people have values in within them, while aspiring to succeed in this seriously competitive world but once they attain riches, all their values become eroded, flushed down the toilet bowl. That is something that all of us have to learn too. Also, I believe that a person should always be honest with what he or she does. GAIN RESPECT. I think that's the most important thing. So what if you're rich but no one likes you. What if one day you lose all your money, who is going to be there for you. That, in fact, is a sad reality and I know people who have encountered this sad fate.

So, always gain respect of the fellow people you meet. Don't snub them and think you're bigger or greater than them, and again I know some people who are like that so, I implore you to gai guo zi xin =)

Oh, I met alot of people today. Bored ma, so go chit chat. I met a guy who was a major property developer. Kind of a funny fella who is kinda loud too. He kept on complaining about some club membership thing. We had a lengthy discussion about them. Then, sitting next to me was a guy who owned a shipping company that makes millions. He said shipping industry on the rise, I say ok, i'll take your advice and invest ... lol ... joking.

Dad had lots of friends too and I was introduced to lots of people. There was this guy who headed the Jurong GRC. He gave me a namecard and told me that if I was interested in initiating programmes or anything whatsoever, find him ... but the again, I don;t live in Jurong -.- .....

Anyways, the evening was great, the meal good but so over rated. I'm tired now and I shall go to sleep and dream in my la-la land =}
