World Cup 2006 - Montage
Boo! Man, I've finally posted today. It's been a long while since I've posted something. Ok, just a few days but still .. haha .. kind of ironic with the fact that i've been mostly bed-ridden this past week and with nothing else to do, I should have the time to at least blog an enrty right? No =P ... I just dun have that oomph to blog. My was rather moody cause I was sick and I terribly despise falling ill.
Oh well, its Sunday and the 2nd day of July. Yesterday was suppose to be the SYF Parade and I had tickets to go to it and I couldn't go cause I was still recovering and I know that if I went, I would be scorched by the sun and probably die of heat stroke and I don't want to be bed-ridden for another week. A couple of people went for the SYF if I'm not wrong. Good for you guys. I shall continue to sulk.
I went over to Holland V instead with my mother. My sore throat was 90% recovered so my mom dared me to have dinner at an Indian restaurant at Holland V. I forgot the name. Lol, my mom never ceases to amaze me. Her taste buds are incredible. She knows how to enjoy good food and I'm proud to have my mother who knows where the best foods are. Well, I'd better watch myself before a tummy pops out. Hahaha!
Oh, I just realized that I have been having a craving for what else, food. When I was having my ulcer, I was most entirely sulking myself away and not being able to enjoy the food that everyone else could have. It was really damn depressing but when my throat began to heal, I started munching away (I was still eating porridge though) ... I began downing cakes, ice-cream, dim sums any food that had to do with chicken. My appetite had begun to kick in and I was munching practically 24/7. Right now, I'm smooshing on some milk pan. It's some sweet cake that is tenderly soft.
Well, I have no idea why my appetite had suddenly grown, but, I have a hunch that its because I haven't been in school over the past few days and my stress level has decreased tremendously. Seriously, just thinking of school makes me shudder. I just have the school blahs lately. The past few days, I found the time meditate and reflect on my inner-self. I found the time to think of my future, the direction I'm taking in my life and re-adjust my priorities. Sometimes, our schedule gets so hectic that we don't give ourselves time to think about ourselves. After all, we are all just human beings. We need our rest too right?
Well, for my remarks of detesting school, I'm sorry but that's just how I feel, and along with many other people I guess. Stupid school life. Making me lose weight when I'm trying to so hard to pack on pounds. I shall sue you. Remember once, Macs was sued by this girl who blamed Macs for "helping" her pack on the pounds. I can sue the school for making me shave off the kilos! Ok, FINE, Crap ...
However, it also doesn't mean that my passion for my school has dissipated, I still have to trudge under all circumstances, no exceptions! I love the work that I do in school and I'm going to pummel all the obstacles that dare to challenge me. COME ON!
I went to Wei Png's house to watch one of what I would say is the most intense games that in the world cup so far. Mao was there with her sister and then WP had a few more of his friends over to watch the games too. I managed to catch up with Wei Png as I haven't got to see or hear from him for a very long time. The game between England and Portugal was terribly sad. I actually even had the cheek to believe that England would have won. I was really hoping that they would get across to the semis but alas, as the game unraveled, hope turned into disappointment. Mr. Beckham injured himself and Wildfire Rooney got himself kicked out of the game. Poor Sods. I actually sympathized with Beckham. I could see the agony on his face, the agony of defeat. He probably knew that there was little hope that his team would get through. Their spirits were pretty much dampened. Especially Beckham. What happened to him? 4 years ago he was a booming spark and now his performance was nothing but just a flicker. Enlighten me Mr. Beckham =(
Brazil and France’s game was rather entertaining. I was extremely shell-shocked by Thierry’s goal. I was like jumping and screaming OMFG! I had France’s band (supporter) and I so wanted France to reach the semis but earlier on I thought, oh well, Brazil, they will thrash le Parisians …. I was so wrong! France played with all the oomph and ahh. They were splendid. The Brazilians also played fervently! It was really a wonderful game and it was the last few minutes that really made me want to jump out the window while Brazil attempted repeatedly to score just one goal to equalize the tally. But, Brazil did play well I thought. Not their best game but they gave their all. I’m proud of them!
Oh well, the semi-finals are going to be spectacular. An all-European game now that Brazil is out of the picture. We shall see which European powerhouse will achieve the title of World Champions. France? (Viva) Italy? Germany? Portugal? I believe that all 4 have equal chances now. I will still support France but I really worry how they will cope with a much younger Portugal team, but maybe France’s experienced players will show the Portuguese a thing or two. We shall see!
I’m still a litlee hung over from yesterday’s match. I had wanted to go home after the BRA & FRA match but I was too pooped and decided to stick around at Wei’s house till morning. Haha. I just reached home not long ago at around eleven. I wanna take a nap now!
Oh, just before I go, just wanna say goodbye and thank you to Brazil and England. You guys have done your best and really brought out the spirit in all of us. It was a great game you guys played and opportunities will still knock on your doors ... Never give up!
