Japan 2006 Vacation Trip Montage

Above is a video montage of my trip to Tokyo and Yokohama, Japan on christmas last year! It was a totally awesome trip, mainly because I love everything JAPAN! Haha! Enjoy the 10 mins odd video! Yes, I keep on changing jackets -.- anything new?

This past week (since my last post) has been a fulfilling one. I had loads of fun these few days and it seemed to drown all my worries away. It was even more fun with my recent engagement to dearest Jane Chia! Haha. She and Levin are like the best singers that I have met in my life and what can you expect from them, they’re Singapore Idol material!

Dixon left for Melbourne on Wednesday all the year 2 MCs and I decided to send him off. Initially, Dixon only knew that Ning Zhen, Joanne and I were going and he didn't know that the rest were coming too.

I rendezvous with the year 2s at Clementi MRT station and from there we journeyed to Changi Airport and we practically crapped around like shit all the way to Changi. Jenny joined us along the way!

Reflections

When we arrived, Dixon was already queuing to check-in his luggage. After SURPRISING him, we took loads of photos, yeah, it's only one month but I think we're going to miss him like shit.

After we waved him off, we headed off to Popeye for dinner. Hahaha. Oh man, Popeye is like the next best thing to KFC and it's sad they don't plan to expand it to town or something like that.

MC Oei!!

Anyways, I headed home after dinner and it was the end of the night for me, totally pooped from laughing with them. Anyways, Dixon, if you read this, don't miss us too much, we'll always be thinking off you! Take care of yourself in Melbourne and don't forget to bring us back loads of goodies! Love!

Two days later on Friday, I met up with Jane dearest, Serene and Edison for dinner at Cine. Anavil joined us later and we eventually decided to eat at Sakae at Heeren. Nigel came by and then went to shop around and Matthew and Levin popped by to visit us before they had dinner with two of their friends at Swensens’ After our dinner, we paid them a visit and after hassling Matthew and Levin for a while, we adjourned to PartyWorld and sang the night away. Eric joined us later at night.

That night, our room was packed with people with unbelievable voices. Jane’s Mariah Carey voice practically blew me away and if Edison joins Superstar, he’ll definitely be a finalist at the very least! All crazy bunch of super-singers, makes me want to hide myself =X

After we satisfied our singing urge, Eric, Edison, Jane, Serene and Anavil stayed over at my place for the night as it was pretty late already. Of course, we didn’t sleep until 6 am in the morning, haha!

Saturday morning and afternoon went by without much fanfare. The guys had already left in the early afternoon. When the sun finally decided to start setting, I headed down to the Salvation Army at Bishan to meet up with Jovan, Edison, Nigel, Levin, Melvin, Jane, Eric, Anavil and Serene to watch Matthew’s band concert. Matt was playing for his secondary school, Bedok Town’s Alumni Band.

The performance was titled Solfeggio and its repertoire included Pirates of The Carribean, Les Miserables and my favourite, The Sound of Music!! Haha, Me and Serene were going ga-ga over that medley. During the first half of the performance, we sat on the second level but decided to proceed down to the ground level during intermission to better cheer for Matt! Haha. Jane was abit Gila screaming for Matthew, well… so were all of us.

We had initially planned to club at St. James’ that night but decided to save money and headed over to my house to chill and play Mario Party. I must admit that we made quite a ruckus because we were practically talking aloud and laughing ourselves crazy, haha, but I guess we were having fun and trying to compensate the fact that we didn’t go clubbing. Nigel didn’t win Mario Party this time, haha, but he came in second anyways.

It's MARIO PARTY Time!!

After our game ended, it was time for everyone to go home and only Serene, Anavil, Jane and Edison decided to stay over. Thanks everyone for coming again that night! I enjoyed myself pretty much!

The next (Sunday) morning, I went with Wei Png to the Pan Pacific Hotel to scout for universities in the US with his friend Hong Chen. I was terribly late when meeting them, well, due to the events that happened the night before. Haha. I still managed to reach the venue in time, though. The Pan Pac Ballrooms were opened and there were dozens of graduates thronging the area with booths manned by various universities providing counseling services. My mom had been pestering me all week to go and visit some university fairs.

I’m still interested in looking for a University in the west board of the USA, meaning, California. So far, the only university that interests me is the University of Southern California (USC). It is situated in a convenient location, my grades are acceptable for the course I want, my cousin is studying there now and my parents are alumni members of USC.

I’m trying to keep my options open though, University of California – Los Angeles also caught my eye but they didn’t offer Business Administration or Banking, they only offered Economics under Business. University of California – Berkeley is also one of my choice but it’s a notch higher than UCLA and USC. You never know, I’ll be aiming for Stanford next. Haha!

Anyway, we shall see how it goes. I plan to take my SATs again. I managed to get a 1280 the first time round but I think I can do better if I attempt it again and my SATs have already expired to say the least. Anyone wants to join me? Haha.

Had lunch with Wei Png at Suntec and we managed to catch up with our lives. After some H2H talk, Wei Png followed me home and collected a few stuff he left at my house during his last visit.

Dinner at Grandma’s house at night and again, the topic of NS and University popped up again. Haha, I think I’ll never hear the end of it again. My uncle was telling me about his NS days and how slack it was for him, he was a medic you see.

After eating a bit, Edison along with Serene, Jane and Anavil picked me up and we headed to town. We had a proper dinner at Vila’Ge. Nigel joined us halfway through. Oh, and guess what? Jane was so in a good mood that she actually treated us for dinner. Haha. Thank you so much! We will treat you when you pass your driving test!

We went to K Box at Cine (Level 4) after that. It only cost $6++ per person and before we knew it, we were huddled in room 33, singing Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo Di Xing =X Just as Anavil was about to leave, Eric decided to join us!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

La-la-la-la

We sang until around two and then took a spin in Edi’s Beemer. We ended the night by having tao huey for supper long Geylang before we headed home to rest our poor mangled bodies. Haha, oh I forgot to mention, there were so many bloody prostitutes around =X Haha, I just didn’t feel right la. XD

Tau Huey!!

Went to school this afternoon and Headquarters was a mess. It seems bAoc preparation is in full production now and everybody as gearing up for the three days orientation! Jia you to you guys!

Just finished dinner at home, mom has just started to cook again and we’re having dinner as a family once again after a hiatus two years ago. Lol. I’m glad though, that I can experience dinner at the dining table. Haha.

Well, I’m going to stay at home tonight, nothing much to do, probably go and read a novel and rot myself till sleeping time!

The Rose - Performed By Westlife; Original By Bette Midler

Some say love it is a river
That drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razer
That leaves your soul to bleed

Some say love it is a hunger
an endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
and you it's only seed

It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
Who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying
That never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed
That with the sun's love
In the spring
Becomes the rose

This song best defines the meaning of LOVE to me. Each and every word in this song. Even in my lowest point of life, when everything seems ominous, I just have to grasp its chords and I bring myself up from whatever tumbles I encounter...

I've cried a million tears, this song alleviated my griefs and sorrows.

Thanks Lina, this song means so much to me...

With Love Always; Mom's 47th Birthday Tribute

It's the 9th of March and today I celebrated the birthday of one person whom I love very much, my mom.

She has been an inspirational figure, as a mother, as a friend and as a mentor. The video tribute that I made for her is perhaps just something infinitesimal as compared to what she has sacrificed for me all these years.

We both went through tough times and I was really grateful that she was there whenever I needed her. It was because of her, I was able to pull through my darkest moments, knowing that I had another reason to live and strive on.

As I grew older, I was glad as well that she could count on my support whenever she needed me. My mom eventually became a friend to me.

20 years of bringing me up, I just want to thank her so much for everything that she has done for me.

Mom… I know you’ll read this. Really, you’ve been a wonderful everything to me all these years. I love you always.

Happy Birthday (You’re always 29 yo to me remember? Haha =D)

My Mom and I

Well, the past few days have went pretty well, with a few rough bumps of turbulence, but, hell, I’m strong enough to rough ‘em out.

I went back to school yesterday and today to pay a visit to my dear juniors. I know they’ve been working their asses off and I’m proud to say that they’ve been doing a wonderful job so far.

First, to my admirer, Joanne, I know the chairmanship is a tough job and haha, I know you’ve been so flustered up these few days (see your hair like seaweed like that), but do persevere because I know that you can succeed in everything you do. I have faith in you. On a lighter note, mind you please, you’re carrying our child, do rest more often, don’t stress yourself and DON’T YOU DARE ABORT THE BABY! Haha.

And of course, my wife-to-be, Ning Zhen. You’re a wonderful person really. Please don’t say sorry la, I feel very guilty as well. I’m really glad and blessed to have known you as a friend. I still remember when I first met you, I thought you were a SUPER SIAO, hyperactive and playful girl! Haha! (Don’t beat me up tomorrow!!)

However, as I got to know you more on a personal level, I knew you were a person with the truest heart that you can find and a friend who you can ALWAYS count on. I’m really grateful that you always treated me well, putting aside all the BO LIAO remarks and bullying that I had to endure. Haha! Anyways, work hard for bAoc alright, don’t bully the subcoms too much =X (*hides under bed*)

To all my other juniors, Harjeet (my darlink), Evern, Melissa (my daughter), Sabrina (my new boss), Indah, Say Hao, Christina and Wan Qi, I love (platonic) each and every one of you very much, even though I’m like always MIA-ing, hahaha!

All the year 3s have been showering their support for you with their goodies and even small little gifts. Show us what you guys are really made of and make the Year 3s and Society proud by bringing down the house during bAoc and win the Best Society Award again this year (it will be third time we’ll be winning the cup)

So, are you ready? (Ayo ayo!!)

Loves!!

Oh yes, before I forget, to spur you guys on, I've made two videos from two of our past events.

BA Society MC Camp 2006

The first video brings us back to the very first camp that we went to. Yeap, this was where we started our journey together as friends and colleagues. We have since forged a friendship that I believe will last a lifetime.

BA Society MSA Camp 2006

The next video is perhaps one of the best events that we all participated in. MSA! This is where the entire BA Society family, MCs, SCOs and ASCOs alike came together and I think we really bonded well during the 3 day camp.

Sucka sucka sucka jelly!

Alright, alright! Anyways, let me continue updating the fun and interesting (or BORING) events that happened these past few days.

Here's a photo of me and Lina during prom. I still haven't received photos from the others yet T-T ...

Let me see, ahh! I went researching my ancestry and I found an interesting fact.

My great-great-grand father was once an imperial doctor in serving under the royal family in the imperial court during the last few years of the imperial days in China. To refresh you on your history, it was sometime during the Pu Yi regime. Pu Yi was the last Emperor of China before Imperialism was abolished by the people of China. Apparently, he fled the country with the clothes on his back and a few other possessions.

Some of my great-great-grand father had apparently left behind some old relics from the imperial days and its stored somewhere in my grandma's house. Oo. Interesting!

Hmm, other than that amazing find, nothing much interesting really happened.

Went out with Nigel the day before and this evening I celebrated my mom's birthday at Lawry's in Paragon. It was a fancy affair and the ambience was great too. Haha, it looked nice but I never did like the food there because it was usually served ina rought cut. I prefer eating at Angus House! Haham but anyways, I still enjoyed myself and I had Creme Brulee for dessert!! Wahaha

Oh, and I want you to meet my REAL Scandal! Haha.

Yes yes, we're getting married soon. Don't forget to come to our ROM! Haha! Invitations will be sent!

That's all folks!
I'm ending my entry here!

Good Night all and have a great weekend!!

To err is human,
To forgive divine...

In union we shall solace
To trust is to vow,
Till death do us part...

BA Society 06/07 Year 3s Tribute - Done by Year 2s

This video was specially created by the Year 2s of BA Society for the third years of the BA Society. Thank you once again for this really amazing video of our entire two semesters in the BA Society!

BA Graduation 2007 has came and gone just like that. I’m still rather astounded that my life in BA Society is, well, over. O.O Graduation was my last event with all the other year 3s in society and of course my dearest year 2s. The Dinner and Dance was held on the first of March at the Conrad Centennial Hotel.

BA Graduation Prom 2007 - Rainbow Enchante

The few weeks prior to the big event was still as busy as I was constantly checking my prom gmail for new updates and liaising with the entertainment company on the programme while at the same time tying up loose ends. I love that live. It’s never boring (even though it sounds boring) I like keeping myself busy and that just makes me feel ALIVE instead of slouching at home watching CSI =| I’ve been in HYPER ALIVE mode since I joined Society almost two years ago.

Time really flies when you’re enjoying yourself and even though I (and almost everyone else) had to go through loads of crap in my three years of poly life, I thoroughly enjoyed myself even more. It was a great experience I guess and coming here was never a regret for me (except for the first few weeks, I think, hahaha)

These last two semesters were even more special for me. I’ve made so many new friends that I swear I can keep for life. From society to my class, they are just wonderful people who cannot fail to brighten up my day!

Shit man! All this nostalgia, I think I’m going to cry everyone a river and drown the entire school. Haha. Ok ok, seriously. I’m going to miss everyone that I know. All my best friends, my buddies, darlings, khakis and even those hi and bye friends. Everything that was always a norm for me has vanished into nothingness. They are now just mere memories, wait, I take the word “mere” back, I meant, exceptionally wonderful memories, that I can keep for the rest of my life.

I myself can’t explain what it’s like to miss something so much. Ok, not much of a something, but a lifestyle, perhaps an… an… an experience! Yeah! An experience! It just feels so… WOW! Haha.

You know what, I’m not going to be so EMO right now or recollect my last three years. I’ll do that WHEN I really graduate from school. Sekali, I fail one module and have to retain another semester -.- (CHOY! CHOY! Choyningzhen XD)

Perhaps, I should tell you what happened on Graduation! Yeah! That’s right! Let me try to remember *scratch head* (Grace and Winston joke: OEI UNCLE! Only 5 minutes and you forget already! TOOPID!)

Well, the afternoon just before Prom, the MCs arrived at the Conrad Centennial. We all discussed on last minute changes and briefed the year two on their roles during the night’s programme. After the major stuff were addressed, I had a quick lunch, I rushed home to get change.

Apparently, I had lent my blazer to a couple of people and had misplaced it. Luckily, I found the stupid blazer chucked away in one corner of my dad’s closet. AMAZING! Well, I quickly got changed and headed back down to the hotel all freshen up.

When I returned, all the year 2s were already glammed up. They were all gorgeous (handsome for SayHao) and pretty! Oh yea, I remembered being interviewed. NO! I didn’t want it k. Haha. I just blurted out a lot of nonsense but I did remember crediting BA Society a couple hundred of times. Haha.

Anyways, people came trickling in after a while and woah by 7:30, almost 98% of the guests had arrived. Our programme started 15 minutes late but it was alright. Nothing much to panic about. I had a great time catching up with some of my old friends and even my lecturers. It was really great. I just hoped that the night’s programme would proceed well.

True to my hopes, everything turned out splendid! The Emcee really did a great job in getting the guests’ attention! He had a lot of fun games up his sleeves, especially the MTV Game. Four pair of contestants had to imitate an MTV, it was like a dramedy put together. You really will not be able to understand how damn hilarious it is. I’ll have to get a video up to show it to you.

We even had a drag performer to come spice up the night! CINDY CLAYPOT! Lol. She (or he) did a wonderful job and I was in stitched during her 20 minutes performance. She (or he) even gyrated with some of the guys. Heh. It was all in good fun. Haha.

Then the pageant, of course. Huimin and Mye Chian were asked to be contestants of the prom too. The catwalk was great and the Q&A session was also damn funny. One of the question was, if you had the notebook with you, whose person will you first write and why? I thought it was rather difficult, I think I also wouldn’t know how to answer it.

Anyways, at the end of the night, the first pair, Mr. Hot M1 and Ms. Angelic F1 stole the limelight and were crowned King and Queen for our prom.

Throughout the night, we also had several lucky draw sessions. There were lots of prizes to be given out, 170 in total. Since there were 280 attendees that night, it meant that everyone had a 60.7% chance of winning a gift.

Well anyways, the most shocking thing happened to me when they drew the grand prize of the night. Apparently, I won it. I was rather dumbfounded by the announcement. Hahaha. At the end of the night, I was holding to a round-trip air ticket to the Bahamas, thanks to Cathay Pacific. No la, JOKING, Hong-Kong.

The Special Administrative Region - Hong Kong

After prom ended, the dance floor was up and a couple of people danced groovily to the music.

Well, I thought prom this year was a blast and after a few surveys and feedbacks, everyone did have a great time and I was surprised that even the lecturers has thoroughly enjoyed themselves that night.

I say, a job well done for the entire committee for their efforts that night! To my dearest years 2s, Harjeet, Joanne, Evern, Ning Zhen, Christina, Melissa, Indah, Sabrina (new boss), Say Hao and Wan Qi, thank you for helping making that night memorable for us. It wouldn’t be successful without each and everyone of your effort!

And of course, to all the other year 3s for their dedicated effort throughout the year in planning this event. Pei Fen, Jenny, Dixon, Jason, Jocelyn and Jerome. Haha. Oh, congratulations to us too! We’re (almost) graduated!

After prom ended, the Year 2s surprised us with the video dedication and we all received quirky gifts. I got myself a condom. Haha. Dixon got himself a packet of Veet (Hair-waxing stuff) and Ning Zhen took the liberty to wax his hair of hiss leg. Lol.

We packed up after the moment of fun and went back to our hotel room. After we changed out of our glam-wear, we headed to Newton for supper. I had roti-prata again -.- and STINGRAY! We laughed the night away until a cat popped out of nowhere and made the girls scream up their chairs XD.

Haha, overall, it was really a damn fun night! (but I was damn tired too larh)

I spent friday at home doing nothing. (*snores*)

Sturday was more fun. Went out with Nigel, Edison, Levin and Melvin for dinner at Cine. Then later, Jovan joined us at night and we went to Party World and sang ourselves merry till 2am!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Bing Zhao (Jovan) & Levin

My throat was rather bad that night, but HECK, I just sang lor. We sang Jay Chou song all night long, lol. Mr. Singapore Idol Levin was like a songbird, he sang very well. Surprisingly, Edison was a bloody good singer too and I swear the both of them can just create their own albums. You should hear them sing, amazing falsetto.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Edison (Chen) singing!

I slept sunday morning and decided to swim and gym that day. Been getting flabby lately. LOL. Dinner at home that night o mark the end of CNY! I hope everyone had had lots of fun during CNY this year.! I know, I did =]

Oh, random thought, my mom's partner Francis Cheong took this challenge a couple of months ago to re-design the entire dresscode of Singapore's Citibanks staff and successfully completed it. He's still the best designer in Singapore after all. Woot!

After dinner, I went to Sentosa Coasta Sands Resort to celebrate Eric's 21st birthday. Jovan, Edison, Nigel, Serene, Anavil and the birthday boy were there already. Jane and Derek dropped by soon after.

We spent the entire night playing cards, dai di, bluff, bridge etc. and haha, my favorite game! Murderer and Detective. We played the "squeeze hands" version that night.

After we bored ourselves with card games, we scared ourselves with lots of ghost stories. Haha, I was really damn timid, since we were on Sentosa island and we were in odd numbers that night. We chatted ourselves, told stupid lame jokes, life storied and suan-ed people around (especially Serene, BREASTIE!!) till the sun rose.

As I was really damn drowsy, I left with Jane and Edi and we shared a cab home!

It has been a fun weekend and I have totally lost my bloody voice. Won't be opening my mouth for the next few days! HAHAHA!

Anyways, China's parliament session is open and it seems that alot of major issues are being tackled during its session. Some of the key issues that they are covering are apparently to sew the growing income divide between the rich and poor. The government also plans to allocate a large sum of funds to the rural areas of China. Furthermore, the government also announced Saturday that its military budget this year will rise 14.7 percent to $35.3 billion. I'm going to track the issues being debate cause its decisions can affect the entire world too.

Parliament

OK! Away from Chinese issues, do have a great week ahead for everyone! Let me end of this entry with the MTV for Take That's uber hot song (which I like alot and number 10 on the UK's Top 20) SHINE!
