This video was specially created by the Year 2s of BA Society for the third years of the BA Society. Thank you once again for this really amazing video of our entire two semesters in the BA Society!
BA Graduation 2007 has came and gone just like that. I’m still rather astounded that my life in BA Society is, well, over. O.O Graduation was my last event with all the other year 3s in society and of course my dearest year 2s. The Dinner and Dance was held on the first of March at the Conrad Centennial Hotel.
The few weeks prior to the big event was still as busy as I was constantly checking my prom gmail for new updates and liaising with the entertainment company on the programme while at the same time tying up loose ends. I love that live. It’s never boring (even though it sounds boring) I like keeping myself busy and that just makes me feel ALIVE instead of slouching at home watching CSI =| I’ve been in HYPER ALIVE mode since I joined Society almost two years ago.
Time really flies when you’re enjoying yourself and even though I (and almost everyone else) had to go through loads of crap in my three years of poly life, I thoroughly enjoyed myself even more. It was a great experience I guess and coming here was never a regret for me (except for the first few weeks, I think, hahaha)
These last two semesters were even more special for me. I’ve made so many new friends that I swear I can keep for life. From society to my class, they are just wonderful people who cannot fail to brighten up my day!
Shit man! All this nostalgia, I think I’m going to cry everyone a river and drown the entire school. Haha. Ok ok, seriously. I’m going to miss everyone that I know. All my best friends, my buddies, darlings, khakis and even those hi and bye friends. Everything that was always a norm for me has vanished into nothingness. They are now just mere memories, wait, I take the word “mere” back, I meant, exceptionally wonderful memories, that I can keep for the rest of my life.
I myself can’t explain what it’s like to miss something so much. Ok, not much of a something, but a lifestyle, perhaps an… an… an experience! Yeah! An experience! It just feels so… WOW! Haha.
You know what, I’m not going to be so EMO right now or recollect my last three years. I’ll do that WHEN I really graduate from school. Sekali, I fail one module and have to retain another semester -.- (CHOY! CHOY! Choyningzhen XD)
Perhaps, I should tell you what happened on Graduation! Yeah! That’s right! Let me try to remember *scratch head* (Grace and Winston joke: OEI UNCLE! Only 5 minutes and you forget already! TOOPID!)
Well, the afternoon just before Prom, the MCs arrived at the Conrad Centennial. We all discussed on last minute changes and briefed the year two on their roles during the night’s programme. After the major stuff were addressed, I had a quick lunch, I rushed home to get change.
Apparently, I had lent my blazer to a couple of people and had misplaced it. Luckily, I found the stupid blazer chucked away in one corner of my dad’s closet. AMAZING! Well, I quickly got changed and headed back down to the hotel all freshen up.
When I returned, all the year 2s were already glammed up. They were all gorgeous (handsome for SayHao) and pretty! Oh yea, I remembered being interviewed. NO! I didn’t want it k. Haha. I just blurted out a lot of nonsense but I did remember crediting BA Society a couple hundred of times. Haha.
Anyways, people came trickling in after a while and woah by 7:30, almost 98% of the guests had arrived. Our programme started 15 minutes late but it was alright. Nothing much to panic about. I had a great time catching up with some of my old friends and even my lecturers. It was really great. I just hoped that the night’s programme would proceed well.
True to my hopes, everything turned out splendid! The Emcee really did a great job in getting the guests’ attention! He had a lot of fun games up his sleeves, especially the MTV Game. Four pair of contestants had to imitate an MTV, it was like a dramedy put together. You really will not be able to understand how damn hilarious it is. I’ll have to get a video up to show it to you.
We even had a drag performer to come spice up the night! CINDY CLAYPOT! Lol. She (or he) did a wonderful job and I was in stitched during her 20 minutes performance. She (or he) even gyrated with some of the guys. Heh. It was all in good fun. Haha.
Then the pageant, of course. Huimin and Mye Chian were asked to be contestants of the prom too. The catwalk was great and the Q&A session was also damn funny. One of the question was, if you had the notebook with you, whose person will you first write and why? I thought it was rather difficult, I think I also wouldn’t know how to answer it.
Anyways, at the end of the night, the first pair, Mr. Hot M1 and Ms. Angelic F1 stole the limelight and were crowned King and Queen for our prom.
Throughout the night, we also had several lucky draw sessions. There were lots of prizes to be given out, 170 in total. Since there were 280 attendees that night, it meant that everyone had a 60.7% chance of winning a gift.
Well anyways, the most shocking thing happened to me when they drew the grand prize of the night. Apparently, I won it. I was rather dumbfounded by the announcement. Hahaha. At the end of the night, I was holding to a round-trip air ticket to the Bahamas, thanks to Cathay Pacific. No la, JOKING, Hong-Kong.
After prom ended, the dance floor was up and a couple of people danced groovily to the music.
Well, I thought prom this year was a blast and after a few surveys and feedbacks, everyone did have a great time and I was surprised that even the lecturers has thoroughly enjoyed themselves that night.
I say, a job well done for the entire committee for their efforts that night! To my dearest years 2s, Harjeet, Joanne, Evern, Ning Zhen, Christina, Melissa, Indah, Sabrina (new boss), Say Hao and Wan Qi, thank you for helping making that night memorable for us. It wouldn’t be successful without each and everyone of your effort!
And of course, to all the other year 3s for their dedicated effort throughout the year in planning this event. Pei Fen, Jenny, Dixon, Jason, Jocelyn and Jerome. Haha. Oh, congratulations to us too! We’re (almost) graduated!
After prom ended, the Year 2s surprised us with the video dedication and we all received quirky gifts. I got myself a condom. Haha. Dixon got himself a packet of Veet (Hair-waxing stuff) and Ning Zhen took the liberty to wax his hair of hiss leg. Lol.
We packed up after the moment of fun and went back to our hotel room. After we changed out of our glam-wear, we headed to Newton for supper. I had roti-prata again -.- and STINGRAY! We laughed the night away until a cat popped out of nowhere and made the girls scream up their chairs XD.
Haha, overall, it was really a damn fun night! (but I was damn tired too larh)
I spent friday at home doing nothing. (*snores*)
Sturday was more fun. Went out with Nigel, Edison, Levin and Melvin for dinner at Cine. Then later, Jovan joined us at night and we went to Party World and sang ourselves merry till 2am!
My throat was rather bad that night, but HECK, I just sang lor. We sang Jay Chou song all night long, lol. Mr. Singapore Idol Levin was like a songbird, he sang very well. Surprisingly, Edison was a bloody good singer too and I swear the both of them can just create their own albums. You should hear them sing, amazing falsetto.
I slept sunday morning and decided to swim and gym that day. Been getting flabby lately. LOL. Dinner at home that night o mark the end of CNY! I hope everyone had had lots of fun during CNY this year.! I know, I did =]
Oh, random thought, my mom's partner Francis Cheong took this challenge a couple of months ago to re-design the entire dresscode of Singapore's Citibanks staff and successfully completed it. He's still the best designer in Singapore after all. Woot!
After dinner, I went to Sentosa Coasta Sands Resort to celebrate Eric's 21st birthday. Jovan, Edison, Nigel, Serene, Anavil and the birthday boy were there already. Jane and Derek dropped by soon after.
We spent the entire night playing cards, dai di, bluff, bridge etc. and haha, my favorite game! Murderer and Detective. We played the "squeeze hands" version that night.
After we bored ourselves with card games, we scared ourselves with lots of ghost stories. Haha, I was really damn timid, since we were on Sentosa island and we were in odd numbers that night. We chatted ourselves, told stupid lame jokes, life storied and suan-ed people around (especially Serene, BREASTIE!!) till the sun rose.
As I was really damn drowsy, I left with Jane and Edi and we shared a cab home!
It has been a fun weekend and I have totally lost my bloody voice. Won't be opening my mouth for the next few days! HAHAHA!
Anyways, China's parliament session is open and it seems that alot of major issues are being tackled during its session. Some of the key issues that they are covering are apparently to sew the growing income divide between the rich and poor. The government also plans to allocate a large sum of funds to the rural areas of China. Furthermore, the government also announced Saturday that its military budget this year will rise 14.7 percent to $35.3 billion. I'm going to track the issues being debate cause its decisions can affect the entire world too.
OK! Away from Chinese issues, do have a great week ahead for everyone! Let me end of this entry with the MTV for Take That's uber hot song (which I like alot and number 10 on the UK's Top 20) SHINE!
TAKE CARE!!
Love Ya'll!
