Of Stars & Patriotism - An exclusive interview by Edison & Matthew

Haha, I found this clip that the clique took during the NDP stay over. It's a clip of Edison and Matthew interviewing each of the guys and girls with regards to Singapore and NDP. It's damn hilarious I tell you. I laughed till I almost died!

OMG! It's been ages since I last blog. I feel so guilty already.

I woke up at like eight this morning to train for napfa tomorrow but, alas, it's pouring like cows right now. Ahhhh! I'm so bored that I've been watching Play House Disney all morning. Hahaha.

Anyways, since I'm bored, I might as well blog. Well, tomorrow's my napfa test. I really hope I can nab my gold/silver tomorrow. All my five stations are fine except for my running. Urgh! I hate running, swimming is so much more fun! I did mention, I loved cholrine did I? Haha.

But, I think I can pass for sure. Let's hope all the best for tomorrow. Hopefully, it'll rain tomorrow too, then I'd have another week to train. Hahaha. It's a possibility you know, with the weather being so crazy these few weeks.

I've been spending most of my time at home these few days. It's exam time for most of the guys in the clique and everyone seems so hectic these couple of weeks. Just another couple of weeks and we'll all be out together again, right?

It's given me an opportunity to spend time with my family too. My grandma's been praising me for a change too. Haha. That's good.

Oh! We watched Ratatouille on saturday night! It was a damn funny movie and I suggest you guys to catch it. All it's underlying meaning made me think a little too. Leave it to Pixar to creae such a wonderful masterpiece. The graphic's so good that the food looked so real. I was salivating throughout the show.

Hairspray is also another hit movie, although, it being a musical, they just sing throughout the movie, till the very end. I also caught 881. It was a suprise for me. Royston did it again with this getai movie, proving that Singaporeans can indeed produce a fairly decent movie, unlike, urgh, Men In White, which was a total waste of my eight bucks. It was practically LAU-SAI throughout the show. Haha.

I caught the King & I on Sunday evening. It was the last performance for the troupe before they moved on to another country. The entire musical was perfectly executed and the audience hummed to the merry tunes of the King & I. The props were rather disappointing though. For a $100+ per seat, I would have expected more elaborate props to spruce up the very imaginative minds of human beings.

Ok, you know what? I don't think the rain is going to ever stop, at least for the next couple of hours, so, I'm going to hit the treadmill. I'll leave you guys with the clique singing the National Anthem for you! Enjoy!

Jenny - The Click Five

To the most resilient girl i've ever known,
My dearest "baby" girl.

Your frustration and anguish,
This song speaks it all.

For the chance I never could give you,
I know; I'm sorry.

It's the 9th of August!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SINGAPORE!

It's been a whole day of red. The entire Singapore is just overwhelmed with this colour of flame and passion; our symbol of patriotism to our country.

Anyway, I went to work today. Everything went on fine. After worked, I went to get myself a new pair of sandals and then met Serene at Cineliesure and we headed back to my house to catch the NDP Live telecast on TV.

The rest soon came and all of us were in red. It was our dresscode for the day. We had a sumptous feast while we watched the parade and then we just had a whole load of fun playing like children.

The NDP was alright, I have to say. It was grandiose to say the least and it pulled all the wow factors for the audience to awe with marvel, yet, I realized that the feeling of a united Singapore wasn't felt. I just didn't understand.

The previous NDPs had this sense of belonging, it was always special and it had that unique factor to make us feel proud and happy. This year, the parade just seemed like another event with no meaning to it. Parades, fireworks, montages and more montages.

This year's theme song was alright too but it just didn't strike a chord with me. It was just another song. I guess it's not all about the pyrotechnics, waterworks and fritzy colours and whotnots after all, it's about what makes our country special.

I really hope next year's event would do away with all the unecessay drama and bring back the pure joy and innocence like the yesteryears of our NDPs.

But, at the end of the day, all's well that ends well, it was a great united effort made by Singaporeans from all walks of life. It was a national effort fueled by the love of our country, Good job, to all the organizers and the participants!

Moving on, Edison and Matthew decided to be the himbos and took videos of all of us. It was simply damn funny, especially Jane. If I have the time, I'll upload them to my blog. Haha.

We called KFC but I should have known it, they couldn't deliver to us due to an overwhelming number of orders. Like duh, everyone was at home watching NDP too. So, in the end, we opted for a pick up order and a few of us went down to Clementi to collect our order.

We had a rough time trying to get there because no one was familiar with the west. Almost all of u were easterners and I ought to have known the routes better. Haha.

We came and had KFC for supper. It was ceazy lar, my whole room was stenched with chilli and chicken. Ack!

We continued to watch TV and do more silly things before we all turned in, while a few of the guys went home.

I guess I have to say that today was really a great day for all of us to bond. Thanks, Nigel, Edison, Matthew, Wan Hua, Serene, Anavil, Gary, Derek and Levin for coming over and making today a special day for me and perhaps, all of us!

To all Singaporeans, it's our country's 42nd birthday.
We're still a young country and I'm sure we'll still have a great future ahead for us and our country.
Let's all stand proud for Singapore.
Once again, Happy 42nd Birthday!

Love ya guys!
Have a great and long weekend
;)

Always Be My Baby - Mariah Carey

You’ll always be a part of me, I’m part of you indefinitely.

A new path we’re walking together,
Yet the same journey we’ve always been on.
Now, filled with newfound faith and hope.
It’s a rainbow I now see at the end of the road.

Finally! The week is coming to an end already! The last time I blogged was on Tuesday! Five days! Haha. Anyways, I’ve been feeling so much better this week. My fever’s gone but, ironically, I still have a hell load of medicine to complete.

I finally managed to go back to work and swimming again. It just feels so great to be outside finally! I think I’ll just blog about what happened over the weekend.

Let’s see, I had swim practice on Friday. Oh, the sun was like scorching hot! I had to lather so much sun block, lest I ended up becoming a lobster at the end of the day! The water was super refreshing and I missed the chlorine so much. Wahahaha! Tell me who doesn’t love chlorine!

Anyway, you know what? I slowed down a little. My timing was way off. I was almost five seconds slower. That’s bad. I think I need to keep on training hard to bring down my timing.

So, after practice, I rushed down to work. It’s like my third week at work now. I’m almost getting used to the Num Flip Flops culture; although, I still keep on forgetting stuffs, like the names of certain flip flops and the password to the PC. The day went by rather fast because there were loads of customers. It was really a case of the frenzy. Everyone was everywhere and flip flops were flying off the gondolas. Before I knew it, we called it a day.

I met up with Anavil, Gary and Edison for dinner after work. We had Yoshinoya and evebtually, more people like Jane, Levin and Wan Hua came down. We chilled abit before we went our separate ways. Just like that, Friday was over.

I worked again on Saturday! Finally saw my every-wacky, yet, beloved duo, Wei Long and Isyandi. It’s been great getting to know them. Even though they’re sometimes a pain in the ass, working with them is always a fun experience. It’s been almost two weeks since I last saw them. NFF is never fun without them. Of course, they suan-ed me the whole day. Thanks ah!

Anyways, payday! Haha. I got my cheque and what’s so significant about it is that it’s my first ever pay cheque! (excluding those I received from my school attachments, of course!) I’m so proud of myself. Wahaha! Btw, I so want to get more pairs of Havaianas! I just realized that I used to own a pair of Black Trek Brazils, but, I think I lost them somewhere, somehow. I hope they bring them in soon!

After work, I met up with the gang and we hung out at Youth Park. I think we crapped a lot that night and I didn’t thin I laughed so much for a very long time. It’s great that we’re trying to hang out more often now. It feels more right that way. Haha. Love you guys! A few of the guys came over my house for a home movie after Youth Park, but once I reached home, I was so tired that I didn’t even watch it. I just plunked to bed to get my fourty winks.

The next day, Sunday was a huge blast! The band consisting of Jane, Levin, Derek & Edison, under the name of Subtle performed at Ben ‘N’ Jerry’s for the second time. More than half of the clique came down to support our fellow performers. I think we might as well proclaim every Sunday fortnight, the Clique Day, since that’s the only occasion we can come with a great excuse to rally all twenty of us.

I had to say, Subtle did bring the house down because everyone, including BNJ patrons really enjoyed their performance, especially the latter half. Levin’s rendition of Sunday Morning and Jane’s My Immortal were among the best songs that day, and who couldn’t forget Someday We’ll Know, my all time favourite!

After the gig ended, we went down to Café Cartel at PS for dinner. PS was like damn crowded and we almost gave up hope on getting seats at the diner, but with luck on our side, we managed to get a table for twelve!

Later at night, the girls and a few of the guys decided to adjourn down to the esplanade. Baybeats was in full action as an Indie Rock band was bringing the whole Marina Bay down. Haha. It was totally crowded. We ended up having supper at Ichiban Boshi. Haha. I tell you, our lives just revolve around food. That’s all we do, eat, eat and eat somemore!

After our satisfying meal, we walked down to the CBD and then to boat quay. We took more candid photos and chilled for a bit before we called it a day. It’s really been a long day, but I have to say, I really enjoyed myself.

Anyways, Wan Hua, welcome to the Clique! I know we’ll definitely have lots of fun with you around! Rock on girl!

AND OH YES! Can the few of you who haven’t submitted your jersey numbers to me, do it asap! I want to get them done soon so I can have our windbreakers out by the end of this month! Thank you!

To end it off,
Thanks everyone, for the great weekend I've enjoyed!
Have a great week ahead everyone!
